For years, our administrators were using smaller models that we would have purchased from OfficeMax. I’ll never forget a conversation I had with Scott Shelburne. We were sitting around this table, and he had no idea we were doing that. He thought we were all using the big copier out in the main office. When I told him what we were doing, he said, “You did what?”

After that, he was able to set us up properly, and that has been huge for us. It allows us to scan and send documents via email, and as administrators, we don’t have to get up and walk to the main office every time we need to make copies. When we switched over, the copier Century provided could do so many things that our previous machines simply couldn’t.

What I really appreciate about Century is that when I see Scott’s number come up on my phone, I know there’s a reason he’s calling. He’s not trying to sales pitch me. When I see Joe’s number come up, or when Joe is in the building, he’s not pitching us either. They don’t take time out of our day to try to sell us something they know we can’t afford.

When we do need something, I make the call and they are here. They go over the different options with me, and I truly appreciate that. I value the face‑to‑face interaction, and I appreciate knowing that if I have an issue, I can call someone. They have a friend in us because we feel like we have a friend in them.

I love the support. I’m still dealing with the same people. I still have Joe—I’ll call him by his first name because that’s how we know him around here. He was just here this week working on our equipment. He shows up. He’s the guy we call.

I can always get someone in the local area when I call. We don’t know anything other than Century’s local. They’re always here within a day or so to help us out. Just yesterday, my secretary was gone, and I went out to change what I thought was the black toner. It turned out to be the yellow toner, and I accidentally popped something and toner spilled inside the machine. Someone came out and cleaned it up, made sure everything was running smoothly, and took care of it completely. They even sent someone over the same day.

We’re a small, not‑for‑profit school. We don’t have a lot of extra income to cover unexpected expenses, and when I share that with them, they give us the best deal. I can honestly say that there have been many times we’ve sat around this table and our monthly price has either stayed the same or even gone down because of a different plan that made more sense for us.

They do a great job. They’re incredibly helpful, offer great customer service, and are always willing to answer my questions—especially over the phone. Whether it’s dealing with unexpected issues or discussing new products, it’s been a really good experience.
